2009 Weston Workshop Series

March 28: A Day with Kim Weston; $100 This one-day workshop offers a special introduction to the Weston family’s historic contributions to fine art photography. Imagine yourself standing in the darkroom where Edward Weston worked for over 10 years. See his original darkroom, equipment and the modest house that he and Charis lived in together. Enjoy a fireside dinner with local photographers. April 4 & 5; (September 5&6) Wildcat Studio Nude II; $525 Wildcat Studio Nude II offers a special opportunity for students to explore nude photography while learning about the Weston family’s photographic history. Participants will get the opportunity to photograph the nude figure in 2 consecutive days. With focus on how to approach and work with models. Communication, composition, lighting are all important factors in getting a good photograph. Preconceived ideas; what are you photographing? What do you hope to get out of a session? April 17-19: The Advanced Landscape Photography Workshop; $600 This very special workshop will feature 3 days of photography, painting and advanced critiques of your photographs while working at Wildcat Hill, Edward Weston’s famous home. May 29-31: Platinum & Palladium Printing with Digital Negatives; $650 Back by popular demand! The Platinum and Palladium printing processes are some of the most beautiful alternative processes available. Like many alternative processes, a contact negative the size of the print is required.
